World Net Daily picked up the Focus on the Family/Glenn Beck/CitizenLink story in a Drew Zahn story titled Focus on the Family website yanks Glenn Beck interview.
Halfway down the article is a link labeled “Glenn Beck’s ‘The Christmas Sweater’ is available from WND’s online store” with a link here, where it is apparently possible to buy Beck’s book. I didn’t buy it, so I can’t say for sure.
We’ll be looking for articles from ODMs with titles like “World Net Daily Embraces Mormonism” or “World Net Daily Promotes Mormonism.“
For the record, I believe doctrine watchdogs perform a valuable service; I just haven’t figured out how they decide when to make common cause and when they don’t. I understand that Focus on the Family is considered a ministry and World Net Daily a news source, so they’re held to different standards. I’d just like to point out that this is a choice in standards about which reasonable people may disagree. Similar, perhaps to the choice to make common cause with Roman Catholics on abortion issues, or maybe even Focus’s original decision to feature Beck and promote his book.
